Specifications

Controls & Operation

Operating the chainsaw safely and effectively.

Starting: Hold rear handle firmly. Press safety lock button with thumb, then squeeze trigger. Release trigger to stop.

Cutting Technique: Let chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Use lower part of bar for cutting; avoid tip to prevent kickback. Do not force saw; let chain do the work.

Chain Brake: Test by pushing front hand guard forward (chain should stop). Engage manually if kickback occurs.

Automatic Oiling: System oils chain during operation. For heavy cutting, press oiling button for extra lubrication.

Chain & Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Check Tension: Chain stretches with use. Stop motor, adjust tension knob until chain is snug.
  2. Inspect Bar: Look for wear, burrs, or uneven rails. Rotate bar periodically for even wear.
  3. Clean Bar Groove: Remove sawdust and debris from oil channels and groove.
  4. Replace Chain: When cutters are worn or damaged, replace with Oregon 91PX chain.
  5. Replace Bar: If rails are excessively worn or damaged, replace with 16-inch Oregon bar.

Tip: Always disconnect power before performing maintenance.

Lubrication System

The automatic oiling system reduces friction and extends chain life.

Sharpening the Chain

A sharp chain cuts faster and reduces strain on motor.

  1. Secure bar in vise or clamp.
  2. Identify shortest cutter; file all others to match its length.
  3. Use 5/32-inch round file for Oregon 91PX chain. File at 30-degree angle.
  4. File each cutter with smooth strokes away from body, maintaining consistent angle.
  5. File depth gauges with flat file to proper height (use depth gauge tool).
  6. Clean chain of filings before use.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Replace chain if cutters are severely damaged.

Storage & Care

Proper storage extends tool life.

Clean saw after each use. Remove sawdust from housing, bar, and chain. Empty oil reservoir if storing longer than 30 days. Store in dry, locked area out of reach of children. Hang by rear handle or lay flat; do not rest on bar.

CAUTION! Always disconnect power cord during storage. Do not cover with plastic while motor is warm.
