Key Features

27-Ton Splitting Force

Powerful splitting capability handles hardwoods up to 24" in length and 24" in diameter with ease, including tough knotty logs.

Horizontal/Vertical Operation

Convertible design allows for both horizontal splitting for most logs and vertical operation for large, heavy rounds.

4-Way Wedge

Convertible wedge allows for single or 4-way splitting, increasing productivity by creating four pieces in one cycle.

Auto-Return Valve

Automatic return valve speeds up cycle time by automatically returning the ram when pressure is released.

Two-Stage Hydraulic Pump

High-speed/low-pressure pump for fast ram extension, switching automatically to high-pressure for splitting tough logs.

Log Cradle

Integrated log cradle holds logs in position during splitting, improving safety and reducing manual handling.

Operation Modes Explained

Horizontal Mode

Standard operation for most splitting tasks, provides stability and easy log loading

Vertical Mode

For large, heavy rounds that are difficult to lift onto the beam

4-Way Splitting

Maximum productivity for medium-sized logs, creates four pieces per cycle

Single-Wedge Mode

For large diameter logs or particularly tough, knotty wood

Manual Control

Full operator control for precise splitting of unusual shapes

Auto-Return

Automatic ram return for faster cycle times during production splitting

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Engine won't start Fuel valve off, choke incorrect, spark plug issue Check fuel supply, proper choke position, inspect spark plug
Low splitting power Hydraulic fluid low, pump issues, relief valve setting Check fluid level, inspect pump, adjust relief valve
Slow cycle time Hydraulic fluid cold, pump wear, valve issues Allow warm-up time, check pump performance, inspect valves
Hydraulic leaks Loose fittings, damaged hoses, seal failure Tighten fittings, replace damaged hoses, replace seals
Ram won't extend Control valve issue, hydraulic lock, linkage problem Check control valve, release pressure, inspect linkage
Excessive vibration Unbalanced load, loose components, engine issues Center log properly, tighten all hardware, check engine mounts

Maintenance Codes & Schedule

  • Daily: Check hydraulic fluid, inspect hoses, clean wedge area
  • 25 Hours: Check engine oil, inspect all hardware tightness
  • 50 Hours: Change engine oil, grease all fittings, check tire pressure
  • 100 Hours: Change hydraulic fluid, inspect filter, check valve settings
  • Seasonal: Winterize engine, store properly, battery maintenance
  • Annual: Complete inspection, replace worn components, professional service
