Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety instructions before operating the Craftsman T 1000. Failure to follow warnings may result in serious injury or death.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Install steering wheel: Align and tighten bolt.
  2. Attach seat: Mount using provided bolts and washers.
  3. Connect battery: Attach red (+) then black (-) cables.
  4. Add fluids: Engine oil and fuel (refer to Specifications).
  5. Attach cutting deck: Lower deck onto mounting points and secure with pins.

CAUTION! Ensure tractor is on a level surface during assembly. Verify all connections are secure before first use.

Operation Guide

Starting, driving, mowing, and shutting down procedures.

  1. Pre-Start Check: Verify oil level, tire pressure, and clear area of debris.
  2. Starting: Sit on seat, set parking brake, engage choke (if cold), turn key.
  3. Driving: Release parking brake. Use forward/reverse pedals for speed control.
  4. Mowing: Engage PTO (blade) lever once engine is at full throttle.
  5. Shutdown: Disengage blades, set parking brake, turn key off, remove key.

Tip: Mow in overlapping passes for even cut. Avoid mowing when grass is wet.

  5. Store in a dry, covered location. Inflate tires to recommended pressure.

CAUTION! Never store tractor with fuel in the tank without stabilizer. Gasoline can degrade and damage the fuel system.
