Specifications

Controls and Operation

Key controls: Engine throttle, drive control lever, speed selector, blade engagement lever, and height adjustment lever.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Move throttle to "FAST" position.
  2. Prime engine (if equipped) by pressing primer bulb 3 times.
  3. Pull recoil starter firmly.

Driving: Squeeze drive control lever to handle to engage drive. Select speed (1-7) with speed selector. Release lever to stop.

Blade Engagement: Pull blade engagement lever to handle to start cutting. Release to stop blade.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Adjust height to match grass conditions.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward and move to desired position (1-6).
  3. Ensure all wheels are set to same height for even cut.

Recommended Settings: 2.5 inches for normal turf, 3 inches for summer heat, 1.5 inches for overseeding.

Mulching and Bagging

Mulching: Install mulching plug in rear discharge opening. Cuts clippings finely and returns them to lawn as fertilizer.

Bagging: Remove mulching plug. Attach grass bag to rear brackets. Empty bag when full for optimal performance.

Tip: For best mulching, mow when grass is dry and avoid cutting more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

Safety Features

Blade brake clutch: Stops blade within 3 seconds when engagement lever is released. Operator presence control: Engine stops if drive control lever is released. Protective deck design: Shields to prevent debris ejection.

Always: Wear sturdy shoes and eye protection. Clear mowing area of debris. Do not mow on slopes greater than 15 degrees.

Maintenance & Storage

After Each Use: Clean underside of deck. Check for loose parts.

Regular Maintenance:

Storage: Drain fuel or add stabilizer. Store in clean, dry place. Fold handle to save space.
